German puke, brents guitars – Post #2
We were scheduled to record guitars today but Kev's german shepperd Gideon decided he was going to get sick and puke several times all over Kevs house during the night. As they say shit happens and it does seems to be true or Kev and I always just seem to step in some.
With Kev off to the vet and stuck shampooing carpets later that night, I decided to kick my wife and kids out of the house (not literally) and track some of my gits on a new song titled Before the Devil Knows. A funny thing happens when your in the studio- you are put under a microsope and things start to change, you start hearing differnt nuances in the music that the rythym section is moving on and you begin to alter your parts that you have been playing live for months. Fast forward 7 hours later and 5 different guitar parts I had narrowed down and tracked three different tracks. Two doubled clean telecaster parts and a dirty distorted tele for color in the track. Now the track is open for Kev to lay an acoustic guitar, solos and a color track. Then on to some percussion and organ.
Until next time...
